Mr. Generoso Bertolin Agustin- Chairman
Mr. Generoso Bertolin started his career in the construction company Bertolin, S.A. in 1992. Two years later, he joined the Management team of Cementos la Union. In 2003, he was nominated Chairman of Cementos la Union Group. He is currently the Chairman of Arabian Cement company, as well as other subsidiaries of the group. Mr. Generoso obtained his grade in Business Management in 1992.
Mr. Ricardo Vela Ibañez - Managing Director
Mr. Ricardo Vela started his career at Cementos la Union in 1994. Since then, he started managing the company and actively contributed in internationalizing the Group Cementos la Union, occupying his spot as Board member of several subsidiaries of the company, including Arabian Cement Company, holding the post of Managing Director. His 20 years of experience and knowledge make him one of the best prepared figures in the cement industry. He has a past experience as Accounting Consultant in different companies.
Mr. Sergio Alcantarilla - Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Alcantarilla is graduated from the Superior Industrial Engineering School in the University of Seville (Spain). He spent some time sharing his studies and Final Project, passed with Cum Laude, with works in different departments of the Engineering School, where he published articles related to energy generation with biomass in international magazines.
In 2002, he started his career in the cement industry and, since then, has participated practically in all fields of the business’ technical side. Mr. Alcantarilla participated actively in the preparation phase of Arabian Cement Company IPO.
In 2015, Mr. Alcantarilla was Executive MBA graduated, with honors, from the IE Business School, Madrid, and shortly after, in August 2016, became CEO of Arabian Cement Company.
Mr. Ziad Ahmed Bahaa El Din - Director
An Egyptian Attorney-at-Law and expert on corporate and financial law. A practicing lawyer in Egypt and a foreign attorney in Washington DC (1990). Served as Deputy Prime Minister of Egypt for Economic Development and Minister of International Cooperation in 2013. In 2012, he represented the Governorate of Assiut in the parliament.
Previously, acted as the Executive Chairman of GAFI in 2004 and later on he founded and headed the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA) in 2009. He served as a Senior Legal Adviser to the Minister of Economy, and as a non-executive member of the BOD of the Central Bank of Egypt and of the National Bank of and the Director of the Egyptian Initiative for the Prevention of Corruption.
He is the founder and member of the BOD of the Ahmed Bahaa-Eldin Cultural Foundation, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the American University in Cairo.
Received his Ph.D. in Financial Law from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences (1996), an LLM in International Business Law from King’s College London (1989), a BA in Economics from the American University in Cairo (1987) and a Bachelor of Law degree from Cairo University (1986).
Mr. Mahmoud Yehia El Gammal - Director
EL Gammal worked in the field in Real Estate development as New Giza CEO and chairman of Galalah for Touristic investments , where he advised on the construction, delivery guaranteeing quality and ensuring our delivery deadline are achieved , He aims to not just building a real estate but by building a certain life style. EL Gammal obtained his engineering degree from Cairo University in 1976.
Mr. Salvador Viguer - Director
Mr. Salvador started his career in Bertolin Group in 1991 and joined Cementos la Union Group in 1994. During the past 20 years, he has been one of the responsibles for the growth and expansion of both groups, participating in corporate strategies and acting as Board member in several of their subsidiaries, including Arabian Cement Company. He is the Chief Financial Officer of both Groups.
Mr. Khaled Abu Bakr - Director
AbuBakr, is a veteran, entrepreneur and manager of the energy industry, played a key role in the development of the gas and power private sector in Egypt and the region. Over the past 30 years he was instrumental in helping grow the sustainable role of the public and private sector in the Egyptian gas and energy sector. His efforts led to the penetration of the natural gas utilization in several countries in the Middle East and Africa. AbuBakr, is the Co-founder of TAQA Arabia with several Gulf and regional funds.
